Basic Legislation
Directive 2005/36/EC as amended by Directive 2013/55/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council.

This is the directive concerning the recognition of professional qualifications.

This is the transposing legislative decree, which refers to the annexes included in the Directive.

Specific National Legislation

for each of the professions (listed in Annex IV of the Directive and the Legislative Decree) for which the recognition of equivalent professional qualifications obtained abroad falls under the responsibility of the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy*:

*Pursuant to Legislative Decree 206/2007, recognition is under the competence of each Region, which must identify a competent authority for this purpose. Until such an authority is identified, the recognition of foreign qualifications is carried out by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy.
It is therefore in the interest of the applicant to check whether the Region where they intend to practice has designated such an authority.
