Reduction in the purchase price of TVs and decoders suitable for the reception of television programs with the new transmission standards

How the Bonus works

The bonus consists in a reduction in the purchase price of TVs and decoders suitable for the reception of television programs with the new transmission standards (DVBT-2 / HEVC) which will be implemented from 2022, as well as for the purchase of decoders for satellite reception.

The reduction of purchase price may amount to maximum EUR 50.

The reduction of purchase price will be applied until December 31, 2022 or up to the exhaustion of the allocated resources.

Beneficiaries

The bonus benefits households that are residents of the Italian territory and that have a total annual income of up to € 20,000, according to the ISEE (indicator of equivalent economic situation).

Resources

The total budget allocated is about 150 million Euros.

For citizens

HOW CITIZENS CAN ACCESS THE BONUS

The bonus is issued as a discount applied by the seller on the price of the purchased product. In order to get the discount, citizens have to submit to the seller a request to buy a TV or a decoder benefiting from the bonus. To this end, they must declare that they are resident in Italy and belong to an ISEE family unit that does not exceed € 20,000, and that other members of the same household have not already received the bonus. The data collected will be processed in compliance with the privacy legislation (EU Regulation 2016/679 and Legislative Decree 196/2003 and amendments).

To verify that a TV or a decoder are among the products for which it is possible to take advantage of the bonus, a list of suitable products is available to the public at https://bonustv-decoder.mise.gov.it/prodotti_idonei.

For sellers

REGISTRATION BY SELLERS

Sellers operating in Italy (including online commerce) who intend to join the initiative, have to register on the online platform made available by Agenzia delle Entrate (Revenue Agency), as indicated also in the Guide to Bonus TV which provides detailed instructions on the procedures to follow for the products entitled to the bonus. The data collected will be processed in accordance with privacy legislation (EU Regulation 2016/679 and Legislative Decree 196/2003 and amendments).

 REGISTRATION BY FOREIGN EU SELLERS

 Sellers operating in European Union countries other than Italy must register at the website https://bonustv-decoder.mise.gov.it/register/venditore_estero according to the following Procedure for foreign EU sellers (pdf - EN).

Italian and foreign sellers, collecting the data for required the discounted sale of TV and decoder, must not use such data for purposes other than those related to the provision of the bonus and are required to process personal data collected in compliance with the Italian and European regulations in force.

For producers

PRODUCT REGISTRATION

For the entire duration of the initiative, TV and decoder producers can communicate to the Ministry of Economic Development, under their own responsibility, the products with the technical characteristics required by the Decree of 18 October 2019.
